Another award for one of our Schalmont High School writers! #sabrepride

Congratulations to sophomore Nixa Nurse who received an Honorable Mention in the 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for her poem “Why I Fall Asleep in Class”.

“Nixa’s work was reviewed and recognized by a panel of creative professionals and was awarded for its outstanding merit in originality, skill, and the emergence of a personal voice and vision,” explained Teacher Mrs. Mattice. “Nixa’s original work will appear in the June issue of Introspection, the high school literary magazine. Congratulations!”
