Schalmont’s walk/ride distance establishment vote postponed

The Board of Education has decided to reschedule the vote to establish walking zones within the district based on feedback from the community indicating it was too short a timeline to understand the proposed vote. Schalmont will focus on providing increased opportunities for voters to learn more about the proposal in the coming months, and will maintain an open dialog with the public.

The district will continue working on a plan to consolidate bus stops which will be in place in September for the start of the 2017/18 school year. Outside of that, transportation will continue to operate as it has for the past several years.

More information will be provided to the community in the coming months, including a future vote date.
