Schalmont Middle School students taught first graders about feelings and connecting those feelings to different scenarios during a visit to Jefferson Elementary last week.
The group of Middle School leaders visit Jefferson Elementary throughout the year to work with younger students while also building their own leadership skills.
“Students made sensory jars that helped them understand how feelings can get mixed up and how to regain a sense of calmness by watching the glitter settle,” said Teacher Miss Pink. “Students also made spring wreath crafts to bring to a local assisted living facility. Activities like this have so many benefits to all of the students!”
