Schalmont High School students enjoyed learning archery this week as the Physical Education Department introduced the new opportunity for students.
Students not only learned about proper technique but teachers reviewed safety from always pointing bows at targets to how to properly carry arrows.
In order for Schalmont to offer archery in PE classes, teachers took instructional training courses. They also used numerous safety methods such as locking all gym doors during the lessons and utilizing special equipment such as an archery safety curtain behind the targets.
