Dear Jefferson Families,

As we enter into the sixth full week of school, I wanted to take a moment to review a few procedures that will assist in keeping our school safe and efficient.

8:45 AM Drop-Off

We have been observing drop off procedures for the last few days in hopes of providing some helpful reminders. With more than 70 cars dropping students off in the morning, we ask that you continue to exercise caution when entering and exiting our parking loop. Our loop has been designed to allow for two lanes of traffic. Simply pull into a lane and follow the lead of one of our security officers, driving slowly until you are asked to stop and await directions to release your students. Once all students have safely exited, you will be directed to exit the lot to make room for the next group of vehicles. In the event you would like to walk your child to the main entrance, please park in the inner parking lot and wait for our security officer to safely assist you and your family.

Upon dropping off your child and exiting the loop, please drive slowly when merging onto Ford Avenue. The volume of traffic on Princetown Road can sometimes cause a minor delay on Ford Avenue. We have noted that AM drop off takes less than 10 minutes if everyone is patient and adheres to our simple, yet effective procedures.

3:00 PM Pick-Up

The K-1 office doors will be opened each afternoon at dismissal for families to pick up their children. Please remember to send in a note for an afternoon pick up. In the event that you forget to send in a note, please call by noon so we can notify your child’s teacher and ensure his/her name is on the pick up list. Please remember your photo ID as you will be asked to produce this when picking up your child. We appreciate your assistance as we take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of our students.
