Police to conduct drills on campus during February break

The Rotterdam Police department will conduct active shooter drills on the Schalmont Central School District high school/middle school campus during February vacation, Feb. 19-22. Read more about the drills.

As the holiday break approaches, I wanted to take a moment to reflect upon the year to date.
The Schalmont community has plenty to be proud of this holiday season. It is especially gratifying to see students at this time of year give of their time and talents to others in need. Students in all schools have shared through giving trees, fundraisers, held food and clothing drives, shopped for children’s toys and presents and partnered with local organizations to bring cheer to so many during this special season. After-school procedures for SHS students

After-school help with teachers is available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until 3:30. Since there is limited supervision after 2:30, we expect that all students leave campus at the end of the school day unless they are with a teacher or participating in a school sponsored event or activity. his past Monday the middle school had 8 electric cars on display brought to us by the Capital District EV Drivers Club.  Members showed off their personal vehicles, ranging from a first-generation 2014 Chevy Spark EV, which were not sold commercially on the East coast, to a new Tesla Model X complete with gull-wing doors!
