Hello Schalmont Families,
As a school community we are proud to celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2025. We are pleased to provide our graduates with a formal commencement ceremony to acknowledge their many accomplishments and years of hard work. We are beyond thankful for the support of our community as we provide another wonderful graduation ceremony on our school campus.
The 68th Annual Schalmont High School Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 27 at 6:00 p.m, with a rain date of Saturday, June 28 at 11:00 a.m. The ceremony will take place on the Stadium Field and we will begin admitting guests onto the field at 5:00 p.m.
We are able to accommodate six guests per graduate to attend the ceremony to be seated on the field, with additional seating available in the bleachers. To reserve tickets for the Commencement Ceremony, each graduate will be asked to complete the RSVP form below to secure tickets for their guests. Please complete the form by Friday, May 9. If any guests need special accommodations for wheelchair access to the Stadium Field, please indicate this on the registration form. We will make arrangements for any guests who need this accommodation
Tickets for the ceremony will be distributed to graduates in the Student Commons on June 5 and 6, along with graduation caps and gowns.
If students do not use their allotted six tickets, the remaining tickets will be reallocated to other graduates. Please indicate on the RSVP form if you are requesting more than six tickets for the graduation ceremony. We will do our best to accommodate as many requests as possible, in the order they are received by the time stamp on the RSVP form. There will also be seating available in the bleachers and around the field.
Additionally, we plan to again livestream the ceremony on Schalmont’s Facebook page and share the video later on our YouTube channel. Many photos of our graduates will be taken throughout the event, which will be available for you to print from our website and social media accounts free of charge. We are happy to offer these additional options for our graduates and families to view and remember this momentous occasion.
As this ceremony is a formal commencement ceremony, we do ask that students consider this when determining their choice of clothing and footwear. Graduation caps should remain intact and decorating of the cap is not permitted. The use of noise makers, beachballs, or other such items during the ceremony often distract or detract from the overall environment. Please be respectful to all those in attendance, giving speeches, crossing the stage, and enjoying the graduation moment.
Lastly, graduation rehearsal will be held on Thursday, June 26 at 12:00 p.m. The rehearsal will take place in Gym 1 and will involve many aspects of the ceremony including the processional, receiving the diploma cover, formal photographs, the recessional and receiving the official diploma.
As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing all of you at the graduation.
Thank you,
Matthew Heckman
