The Board of Education met last night for its regular meeting. Here is a summary.
- Superintendent Dr. Thomas Reardon provided a school budget update with initial estimates for continuing all programs next year. The budget also includes additional funding for more IT support, athletic trainers at all home contests and practices, and professional development to support literacy training. Dr. Readon noted school districts will have a clearer picture of revenues when New York State adopts a budget in the upcoming months. The presentation is available here.
- Dr. Reardon presented a summary of the Community Budget Survey, which nearly 200 community members took online last month. Dr. Reardon noted a common theme from residents was preserving or growing student opportunities while being mindful of taxpayers. A presentation is available here.
- The Board approved Jennifer Koonz as a long-term teacher substitute for 4th grade and Kerry Dineen as a short-term teacher substitute for the Middle School. Welcome, Ms. Koonz and Ms. Dineen!
- The Board appointed Alyssa Lupinski as a High School Social Worker, filling a vacancy. Ms. Lupinski previously worked with Pre-K-12 students at Green Island Union Free School District. Welcome, Ms. Lupinski!
- Middle School Teaching Assistant Angela Uhl was granted tenure. Congratulations, Angela!
