The Board of Education met last night for its regular meeting. Here is a summary.
- Superintendent Dr. Thomas Reardon praised Schalmont’s Transportation Department, thanking them for their outstanding work last week getting every student home safely despite an afternoon storm that was worse than forecasted. Board members also spoke proudly of the Transportation Department’s dedication, noting Schalmont has not faced the same driver shortages that many other districts have experienced.
- Dr. Reardon gave a budget update where he explained preliminary state aid figures were released but those numbers are expected to change as a final state budget is developed in the upcoming months. Additional school budget details will be provided at the next Board meeting when the district has a better sense of projected expenses for next school year.
The next Board of Education meeting will be Monday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m.
