The Board of Education met December 11 for its regular meeting. Here is a summary.

• Principal Joby Gifford, Assistant Principal Aileen Ryan, Teacher Sue DiCaprio and Social Worker Sara O’Brien presented on Jefferson Elementary’s collective work to reimagine the school’s social-emotional curriculum. • The Board appointed Mia Unverzagt as a Physical Education Teacher to fill a short-term leave at Schalmont High School. Welcome to Schalmont, Ms. Unverzagt!
• The Board thanked and congratulated Bus Driver Zelindo (Ziggy) Viscusi, who is retiring after 26 years of service with Schalmont. Thank you so much, Mr. Viscusi, for your years of dedication ensuring our students get to school and back home safely each day! #schalmontpride
