Schalmont would like to share with our community that Jefferson Elementary Assistant Principal Aileen Ryan is leaving the district next month for an opportunity in private education.

Ms. Ryan joined Schalmont in 2022 after working the previous five years at Catholic Central High School.

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with Aileen and we wish her the very best,” said Superintendent Dr. Thomas Reardon. “She has been a great asset to Schalmont and our students. While we will certainly miss her, we are happy for her as she pursues this opportunity to work in private education again.”

“Please know this was a very difficult decision for me as Schalmont holds a special place in my heart. I have been given a wonderful career opportunity that aligns with the needs of my family,” said Ms. Ryan. “During my time here my days have been filled with amazing students, supportive parents and outstanding faculty and staff. I will treasure the relationships that I have made during my time here.”

Schalmont plans to hold a search for a new assistant principal in the spring. In the meantime, Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics Kathleen Russell will provide administrative support at Jefferson Elementary. Academic and Instructional Support Services Director Armine Gonzalez will also assist with Ms. Ryan’s CSE Chair responsibilities.
