The Board of Education adopted the 2024-2025 budget April 8 that requires no tax levy increase for the 4th year in a row while building on opportunities and support for our students. Schalmont has once again been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation. The award is given to schools that “demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.”
Spanish 4 classes turned into cooking shows last month as students showed off their language and cooking skills for classmates! “To finish their unit on cooking and foods from Spanish speaking countries, students presented various recipes in ‘cooking shows’ and then actually made the food to share with classmates. Mrs. Hughes’ 2nd graders visited preschool friends at Our Lady Queen of Peace last week for some fun together! Children decorated donuts with frosting and sprinkles and practiced ball skills such as dribbling, catching, throwing and kicking in the gym. Great job, 2nd graders, for being such great role models!
